Webinar: Designing a virtual breastfeeding support scheme

Wed, 17 Jan 2024
14:00 – 15:30 (Online)

About this event
In the first of our guest webinar series, we will hear from Hampshire Breastfeeding Counselling, who in 2020 rose to the challenge of setting up a virtual breastfeeding support offer when their usual face-to-face groups were unable to meet due to the Covid restrictions. They discovered that while virtual support cannot always replace that face-to-face experience, it has proven a valuable addition to the breastfeeding counsellor’s toolbox.

The government’s new Start for Life programme recommends developing a virtual breastfeeding support element as part of a Local Authority’s breastfeeding support offer. As the first 75 LAs on the programme design their local infant feeding strategies, now is a timely opportunity to learn how to set up a successful scheme that makes the most of the technology now available.

Who this webinar is for

  • breastfeeding counsellors
  • breastfeeding peer support coordinators
  • lactation consultants
  • infant feeding leads
  • LA public health managers and commissioners
